PC Satellite TV - Turn Your PC into Satellite TV

Watching satellite TV on PC is getting more common every day, sure the satellite TV has been around for a good while but now you can get it all on your PC. In this article we will take a look at exactly how easy it is for anybody to get PC satellite TV even if they have zero computer skills. To watch satellite TV on PC you obviously need a satellite TV software, which usually are really simple and easy to use. Even a senior citizen with very little knowledge about computers can do it.

Then why should one get satellite TV on PC instead of using the traditional satellite TV dish system?

1. A very significant reason is obviously money. It doesn't really matter if you use a self assembled satellite dish system or an installed system, you will end up paying many times what you have to pay to get satellite TV on your PC. Another big setback to watch satellite TV using the traditional satellite services is the monthly bill that you get in your mailbox. Currently the most popular satellite TV software for PC is available for less than $50 and after that there are no more payments, so it basically equals having a free satellite TV.

2. When you are using a satellite dish the number of TV channels you receive depends on how much sky your dish covers. With PC satellite TV you don't have to worry about that. You will get all the satellite TV channels directly to your computer, all you need is an active internet connection and you will be able to watch satellite TV on PC immediately anytime you want. Usually with a satellite TV software you will get thousands of channels from all over the world to your PC.

3. The installation of the satellite dish system can be a real pain no matter how much of a home improvement person you are. With PC satellite TV there is no such problem, it is as easy as checking your e-mail or reading this article.

Tom Lane thanks you for reading this article and recommends you to visit PC satellite TV review, if you wish to get satellite TV on your PC.

Free Radio iPhone

If you haven't heard it yet, AccuRadio is the internet's leading independent radio broadcaster, the quintessential personalizable, multichannel streaming radio listening service. Enter FlyTunes, a company that has just created a mobile version of "Hurricane", its patent-pending streaming technology, and you have a partnership that was made for iPhone.

At the April 14th RAIN (Radio and Internet Newsletter) Summit in Las Vegas, FlyTunes announced the launch of a complete mobile AccuRadio portal which combines a user-friendly interface, targeted advertising delivery, and enhanced streaming quality (QoS). Best of all, this new mobile radio service is iPhone compatible. This gives satellite radio giants Sirius and XM a run for their money, as they still scramble to get support on the various smartphone OS platforms.

Webcasting, or internet radio, currently serves over 50 million American listeners each month. And already AccuRadio - as the self-avowed "Next Generation of Radio", and one of five nominees for the 2008 Webby Awards ("the Oscars of the Internet") in the category of Best Radio - serves a good half-a-million of them, at least. That number is poised to swell now that smartphone users can access the service through their handheld devices - including the iPhone. Not only that, but the service is also available for users of the iPod Touch.

Whatever your musical tastes, AccuRadio has it, offering Rock, Pop, Classical, Country, Jazz, Broadway, and more: over 320 different genre-specific stations in all. Other categories to titillate mobile music fans include Oldies, Blues, Soul, Hip-Hop, Latin, Swing, Cabaret, Celtic, Reggae, Native American, and Chinese Pop. Now that's variety! Plus, as if that wasn't enough, AccuRadio even lets users build their own radio channels, if they like.

On the critical side, the mobile interface is still more like standard, traditional or "terrestrial" FM radio than satellite or internet radio in that it doesn't yet display the name of the song playing, and doesn't let users skip past songs they don't like. Stations load up as a QuickTime movie.

If webcasting was once the new frontier, mobile webcasting has now taken its place, and rightfully so. Our culture is one that is increasingly on the go, and not everybody is crazy about the idea of listening to the same music from their iTunes library or other MP3 collection over and over again. The innovation of the FlyTunes' AccuRadio mobile platform allows people on-the-go the same ever-changing variety of audio entertainment that commuters have had for decades through their car stereos.

Why You Should Be Online

The web is filled with sites explaining why your business needs to have an online presence. I think by now everyone has figured out that the web is a wonderful, powerful advertising medium. It's the marketplace of the world and if you own a business or provide a service and you're not online you are already behind the curve. So, there.

But, what if you don't own a business? Is the web only for business marketing? If you're not selling something (or by extension, buying something) is there no place on the web for you? Well, we already know the web is unmatched as a research tool. Though the sum of mankind's knowledge may not be available online (yet), I think it is safe to say there is at least some kind of information on just about anything you'd care to know. So, if you have some special knowledge to impart to the world you should definitely be online.

But, what else? What if you're just an average person, you're not trying to sell anything or impart any special wisdom; why should you be on the web? I can say it in four words; "web two dot zero"...that is, "Web 2.0". Although technically it's described as the new infrastructure paradigm of the Internet after the dot com collapse of 2001 and is most often associated with new technology and business practices, more importantly it describes how a more mature and knowledgeable Internet community is restructuring the web to meet the needs of a new connected society.

Contrary to the early fears our parents expressed about an alienated youth living virtual lives alone in their rooms, experiencing human contact only via electronic intermediaries, in this new society people are more connected across a wider spectrum of experiences than ever. The youth of today are in near constant contact with each other. Through IM, online gaming, cell phones, blogs, chat rooms, etc. we are developing a new culture that encompasses all of the connected world, and the world is becoming more connected every day. It's not unusual in the least to meet with friends at the coffee shop in the morning and have a chat with friends in four different countries in the evening.

Most Web 2.0 discussions tend to revolve around the changing Internet infrastructure, open source, network application platforms, data ownership and the like. By focusing on the effect they are missing the point; the real revolution on the Internet has little to do with the infrastructure or the technology...it has to do with the people. The new web is a social phenomenon, not a technical one. The Internet is becoming part of the fabric of our society and as such people are changing it and adapting to it in new and unpredictable ways.

So, why should an average person with nothing to sell and no particular drum to beat be on the Internet? Because that's where the rest of society will be. Personal websites will be more commonplace than telephones; they're incredibly inexpensive and easy to build, and most people will have more than one. They will have family sites to share pictures and stories with family and friends, personal blogs to maintain a dialog with friends and strangers alike on the events of their community and the events of the world. Garage sales, wedding announcements, graduations, births, parties, resumes, recipes, pictures, videos, etc. all on your website(s).

The world is flattening and the nuclear family quickly becoming a memory. As more countries come together in common cause and open their markets up to each other, families spread out around the globe and lose touch. The Internet is opening up avenues of instant communication that allow people everywhere to see, hear, and share with each other any time they want. The personal website is the front porch in a new online society where you welcome up friends and neighbors for a sit and a chat in the evenings. It's the fence you lean on in the afternoon to talk gossip and share recipes. It's the living room you hold your Cub Scout meetings in as well as where you post the latest pine wood derby results. It's even a refrigerator door where you post A+ papers next to crayon masterpieces for all the family to see.

Build a site and join an online community of millions around the globe.

The Expansion of High Speed Internet

High speed internet has been getting speedier over the last couple of years. It seems every couple of months there is a new report in the news about a new internet medium 100 times faster than ADSL. It's difficult to keep up. All these new mediums are not viable for the general public because of the practicality of the setup.

ADSL 2+ runs at around 24 mega bit a second. I cannot see how anyone would need a faster speed than this. The average internet user will use the internet for simple browsing or to use their email. 5 mega bit a second is more than enough to do all that in a timely manner. So why do we need faster internet? Mainly for commercial purposes and the die hard internet geeks that can' wait that extra millisecond for their page to load up.

With high speed internet the main restriction is the download limit. When you give users that kind of speed they will be downloading a lot more data hence download limits need to be raised. When you raise the download limit the price of the service goes up dramatically. There has to be a middle ground in between download limits and pricing.

Cable internet is also a good broadband connection. Cable internet runs on a separate cable, as the name suggests, rather than running on a phone line. This increases reliability because it is not running on the same lines as land line phone services or pay tv.

High speed internet is good to have, but anything more than the current speed is a little over kill for our present needs as consumers.

5 Reasons You Should Never Use The Phone To Sign Up For Broadband

With the eminent recession in Britain now more a reality than a doom-mongering speculation, you're probably looking to save money wherever you can, and with a recent report that we could be spending £400 a year too much on broadband, you're surely in the mood to switch providers.

But when it comes to switching, are you going to research your choice online and then phone them up to place your order?

Well don't. Bite the bullet and sign up online instead. There are many advantages of signing up online and whole bunch of online deals awaiting those who eschew the telephone and opt for the mouse instead.

1. Applying for broadband online means cheaper prices

By signing up online, you will first of all find you save a great deal of money. This is because the providers themselves can afford to offer all sorts of special rates to online customers because they are able to cut down on other costs.

Virgin Media probably has the best deal of all, saving as much as £30 for just signing up online. They'll give you £10 discount for each of their media services that you take, so take TV, phone and broadband to get back the maximum discount of thirty pounds.

AOL gives you a good deal too when you sign up online with the first month of your contract absolutely free.

Lesser known broadband provider Demon forgoes their set up fee if you sign up for one of their online packages.

2. Applying for broadband online gives you free hardware and more

Some online providers have special offers and giveaways that only apply when you sign up online. For instance, AOL, O2 Broadband and Be Broadband all offer free wireless routers for customers who use the online form rather than the telephone to sign up.

Demon Broadband, on the other hand, includes a free router and free setup online. Not only that, but they don't even allow you to sign up on the phone, so an online sign up is your only way of joining Demon's excellent home-office broadband.

3. Applying for broadband online saves call charges

In some cases (where a broadband provider doesn't have an 0800 sales number) you will be expected to pay for the phone calls you use when signing up to a new broadband provider. Not all providers offer a free phone signup number and this can become an expensive exercise, especially if the signup process on an 0870 number starts to take a while. AOL and Tiscali are two providers that do offer a free phone number.

It should be remembered, however, that these numbers are only available through a BT landline, so calling from a mobile or even a Virgin Media cable phone will not be free.

Madasafish is a small, but friendly broadband provider, widely considered the best broadband for customer service. They are prepared to either email or call you back once you have completed their online sales enquiries form.

There are also cheaper ways to find out more about the service without having to make an expensive call. By logging onto Sky Broadband website for example, you will be able to chat freely with one of their consultants using an MSN messenger-type service.

4. Applying for broadband online can be done at any time, anywhere

You can't guarantee that a broadband provider has a sales call center open at 2am when you're in the mood to sign up. Online applications on the other hand can be done at any time.

What's more, you don't even have to be in the UK to sign up for broadband online. You can do it from the wi-fi zone on the beach in front of your hotel in the Caribbean, or from an internet café in Paddington Station.

5. Applying for broadband online lets you compare and apply in a single step

In summary, when signing up to a new broadband package, step away from the phone. It's cheaper, easier and so much better to click on the big 'Apply Now' button instead.

Quite the simplest and efficient way to decide which online package would be best for you is to use a broadband comparison site like http://www.ChooseISP.co.uk

Broadband comparison sites like ChooseISP.co.uk allow you to compare broadband deals, to make your choice of broadband package and to sign up easily and efficiently, all in one.

Electronic Chess Sets

Chess is a very popular game and there are many different types of chess sets available. One option that is popular for chess enthusiasts is an electronic chess set. These types of chess sets offer players flexibility, to either play another opponent or play against the computer if another opponent is not available. Usually electronic chess sets give players the option of playing at an increasingly difficult level as their skills improve which is fun and convenient for players without many human competitors around at the same skill level.

Electronic chess sets come in a few basic models all with varying features and different designs. The two basic designs are table top electronic chess sets and hand held ones. Table top sets allow players to play either a human opponent or the computer and have a more classic chess feeling. Handheld sets play more like chess on a computer and some allow play between two people while other are limited to play against the computer. Handheld sets also allow players to play anywhere and are not restricted to the table.

For players who like the feel of a traditional game but do not always have an opponent available, a table top set is the best choice. Electronic table top sets usually range in skill level from beginner to advanced and allow players to practice, learn from their mistakes, and build their skill. Some sets will track a player's movements and even offer feedback or will play at a set skill level according to your movements. Electronic table top sets usually offer more features than hand held ones as they have more space for more powerful computers. Some sets have features such as game recording, analysis and pre programmed openings and attacks for practice purposes.

Hand held electronic chess sets also have their advantages. These types of sets are very portable and allow players to enjoy a game anywhere. Because of their small size many models do not have all of the features of table top sets but some do have features such as allowing you to play against another person rather than the computer, game recording, and game feedback. Hand held models sometimes allow you to track you progress as you get better at the game and some offer pre-programmed openings and attacks to study. Some hand held sets are designed for high skill levels and others are geared for beginners, but most allow you to pick a skill level for the computer from a pre-programmed range.

No matter which type of electronic chess set you choose, a serious chess player will benefit form the learning opportunities and many features provided by these types of sets. Most will also allow players to show off their increased skill against a human opponent if they choose. Both hand held and table top versions make great gifts for avid chess players or are the perfect way for you to hone your chess skills if you do not always have someone to play with.

Protect Your Property With A GPS Alarm System

Do you have high end "toys" that you would hate to lose? Do you live in a place where stealing occurs on a regular basis? Do you want a way to protect your personal property without having to spend a fortune? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then there is an option available to you that can help you to protect your things: the DeWalt DS500.

The DeWalt DS500 is a versatile GPS tracking system that offers not only protection but recovery of your personal property. This tiny device can be hidden anywhere on your valuables. It is so small that it is difficult to detect and if by chance it is found, it is tamper proof. As there are no buttons, no screws no faceplate to be seen, it is extremely difficult to break open and disarm.

This little device is very simply placed on your personal property (cars, boats, motorcycles, campers, etc.) by way of an extremely powerful magnet. It is activated by going to a web controlled system where you program how you want to be alerted. That is all there is to it. No matter where you are, you will be alerted by the DeWalt DS500 if there is any change to your personal property. This means that should your property be touched (if you set up the vibration alert) or should it move from its spot (if you set up the alarm mode) you will be alerted immediately. There are also various other alerts/sensors that you are able to set up on the easy to use web controlled program. It is a very easy quick set up that once done will give you the peace of mind that your possessions are safe.

The DeWalt DS500 gives you many options in protecting your property. Once you are alerted, you can actually set off a alarm through the unit. This alone might be enough to scare away the thief. However, if this is not the case, you can find out exactly where your property by using the web controlled tracking program. This will enable you to track exactly where the thief is taking your prized possession. The other nice thing is that many law enforcement agencies now have the capability to follow GPS tracking devices. As this is a web based system and many police officers now have computers in their cars, they can easily track your stuff (as long as you supply the information). This will make getting back your stolen property much faster.

So the next time you park your motorcycle on the street, dock your boat at a marina, or leave your tool box out where someone can take it, give yourself peace of mind by investing in the DeWalt DS500. It is the best 70 cents per day that you have ever spent.

Children and Cell Phones, Be Sure You Know Who They Are Talking To

With all of the technology available today, it's hard to say who is trying to get in contact with our children. Between the chat rooms, MySpace, and just using the internet, strangers could be talking to our children and we don't even know it.

Have you ever looked at your cell phone bill and wondered why there were so many different phone numbers calling your child's phone? Do you know who every single one of the numbers belongs to? Probably not. They might have met someone via the internet and assume the person is harmless. Do we really know for sure?

The good news is there are websites available which will help you find the information you are looking for. All you need is the cell phone number you are curious about. Just by inputting the number, you have access to the owner name and address, the phone location, household members, phone carrier and location, line type (land or mobile) and much more.

You may come across some sights that offer "free" service, but they are not free. Don't waste your time like I did. The legitimate sites that will give you the information you need to monitor your child's usage will naturally charge a small fee. The fee normally covers unlimited access so you can look up as many numbers as you like, as often as you like. It's a small price to pay to keep your child safe and to keep yourself informed.

Cell phones are a great way for us to keep in contact with our children. Our intentions are good and it is our responsibility to monitor their usage. Not everyone has good intentions.

Sure, cell phones are the ultimate in communication convenience. Our children love the fact that they can text or call their friends anytime they need to. Parents love the fact that they can contact their child with the push of a button. With millions of people now using cell phones all around the world, it is quickly becoming the standard in communication. The same convenience also opens up our children to a whole set of risks.

Investigating their usage is not an invasion of their privacy. They might try to convince you that it is, but it is our responsibility as a parent to make sure we know who is in contact with our children.

When You Wish Upon an iPhone

As Apple attempts to meet its latest objective of selling 45 million units of its newest flagship product by the end of 2009 (as a point of comparison, incidentally, last year Apple sold 50 million units of its beloved iPod) everyone and their mother seems to be composing their own wish list of the features they'd like to see in next generation iPhones.

One of the most popular items on these iPhone wish lists, 3G network access, looks poised to come true. But what about the rest of the capabilities iPhone users past, present, and future are wishing for?

There's no telling which of these fantasies Apple will make a reality, but in the interest of keeping hope alive (and keeping score), we've compiled the most popular items on everyone's iPhone want-list below.

  • lower price -will Apple ever release lower-priced, scaled-down versions of the iPhone for less than $400 a piece?
  • improved battery - including the ability for users to easily replace worn out batteries with fresh, new ones
  • better digital camera (including a dedicated shutter button) - it's still one of the biggest iPhone shockers that this preeminent multimedia smartphone has such a subpar built-in digital camera
  • more storage - at least 32 GB on-board with an expandable option via an SD or miniSD card slot, please
  • USB slot - giving the iPhone the capability of fulfilling its potential to once-and-for-all become the central hub for a bevy of other powerful peripherals
  • voice features - both voice recording and chat capabilities
  • GPS - Sorry Apple, but GoogleMaps simply isn't enough
  • MMS messaging - take a lesson from the BlackBerry, will ya?
  • Global shuffle - enabling users of the built-in iPod to shuffle their entire music library and not just individual playlists
  • Safari "page down" button - making scrolling as easy as it should be (not to mention as easy as it already is on most other, competing, mobile web browsers)
  • Flash support - speaking of the Safari browser, the glaring absence of Flash support severely limits what content can and can't be viewed
  • Cross-application copy-and-paste - such as the ability to copy an address from your contacts and insert it into the Google Maps app search field
  • Customizable home screen - once you plunk down that $400, it should be your iPhone after all, not Apple's, shouldn't it?
  • Bluetooth headset support - hello?
  • better email- including the ability to sync up your wireless address book with your iCal scheduler as well as the ability to delete multiple emails at once
  • fixed screenshot program - one of the buggiest apps in the iPhone repertoire
  • better Notes - one of the ugliest and least user-friendly apps of the bunch
  • tighter grip - get a grip, iPhone! Forget about dropped calls, right now it's way too easy to drop the whole iPhone, with its shoddy rubber strip surrounding it; it would be really nice to have a casing as substantial as its contents

Gene Munster, a Piper Jaffray analyst, seems to be the catalyst for all this pie-in-the-sky pipe-dreaming, having been the first to predict this 45 million sales figure back in June of 2007, even before Steve Jobs took up the gauntlet.

Bound to help Apple reach that record number of iPhone sales is the planned progressive release of iPhones into several international markets, such as the UK, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Australia, Spain, and - the biggest piece of the pie of all - China.

Online Games - Entertainment For All Ages

When it comes to online games there are so many categories available that it may be really hard to choose which one to play, after all you're only limited by your own free time, today we will show you a contrast in game genres so that you know what is available and what isn't, online games have been designed according to the players age, in other words younger players shouldn't be playing war games instead, educational games such as memory and puzzles are recommended instead.

There are several kinds of online games available for audiences of different ages, some use the characteristics of games such as chess, others mix card games with strategy games and others take shooting games to a whole new level. A great online game, which is mostly based on shooting is called madness death wish, this particular game should only be played by adults or older teenagers or not affected by violence, having said that older audiences are able to do with the game to the fullest because it is similar to games found in sites such as cartoon network that are known for taking online games to a whole new level.

Madness death wish is not really much of a game, but more of a simulation of what would happen if the player were to take on five different enemies at the same time using different weapons. The simulation is quite funny, because of the way the player is programmed to move for instance, if you get the gun with spears. You get to shoot your enemies from the front from the back and without even seeing them, it is a pretty stylish killing game however, the main player always dies at the end at the hands of an enemy, which is behind the wall, if you play this game you would have to agree that the best situation is one of the main player gets the powers of the blood God, he literally rips his opponents apart.

Puzzle bubble it's a cute game much like Tetris but without the intricate shape combination and complications. Unlike Tetris, you are not required to align objects which are common at you at a certain speed, instead you're expected to line up bubbles or balls of the same color, when this happens you're able to eliminate a row, or a group of balls of the same color which clears up the path to the top, however, this game is similar to Tetris in the sense of speed, if you're not able to eliminate as many bubbles as possible within the least amount of time the roof which holds the bubbles will come down crushing you it will make you lose this may sound like a very simple game at first glance, however it isn't so. If you like Pacman and Tetris then this game is for you.

Kenplay.com offers a great variety of free online games for players of all ages and interests. Visit us today and play free games, take your time and have some fun!

Why Flash Arcade Sites Are So Popular

There are many popular games that you may favor but may not really know what genre of gaming they are categorized as. When you visit pubs, restaurants, entertainment hubs or the mall, do you always try your luck at one of those coin operated games?

Well, if this is you, then you like arcade games. The great thing about these arcade games is that if you fare well, there's a prize for you.

In most cases, you just play to collect points and the machine dispenses tickets in proportion to the points you accumulate. These tickets can then be redeemed at the gaming center for a gift.

From the traditional arcade games, modern day has introduced the need for online arcade games. The interesting feature of arcade games is that they are short games and very thrilling.

This is because in the traditional run, your game extends till as long as you can keep the going based entirely upon chances you get to play every time you put in a coin. In respect to arcade sites, the concept remains more or less same because otherwise it wouldn't be an arcade game.

So it's essential that the features of arcade are kept alive for an online game to be considered an arcade game.

Obviously when you are considering arcade games you are also looking forward to live and enthralling visuals. The need for great visuals is paramount. Obviously, gamers are looking for sites that have streaming visuals that have a realistic approach.

This is possible with the use of flash. This user friendly application lets you create visuals of unmatched quality and all you need is flash player compatibility for it to come to life. Flash arcade sites are a great entertainment source.

They have great games that can keep you hooked on. The great thing about flash arcade sites is that the games that are offered are truly meant for your entertainment and are games that have a shorter duration, so you aren't really going to be sitting and as people say, wasting your time playing all the time.

The duration of your game is essentially dependent on your ability to play the game because it is upon you to keep your avatar alive for the longest period of time and even if you managed to stay put, the game wouldn't last too long because it's built that way.

Another reason flash arcade sites are so popular is because the learning process is easy. They are short games and any one can master them in a short period of time. More than being competitive, flash arcade games is fun and entertaining.

The interesting part being if you have any inkling of applications, almost anyone would be able to create their own flash arcade games. With flash arcade sites there's no fear of gaming addiction because there's no tough competition and elaborate levels of gaming that you have to master in order to win.

With flash arcade games things don't get so complicated and the fun aspect is never sidelined and you can always have a little fun with your avatar.

World of Warcraft 2008 Hunter Class Overview

World of Warcraft hunters are constructive groups, however, due to their exceptional talents; they can draw mobs and set off several traps that can both sidetrack and tease the enemy, making the hostile mob an easy target for members in the group that are suitable for dealing great amounts of damage. World of Warcraft Hunters are excellent damage dealers, with the main bulk of their damage coming from the ranged attacks they have. Hunters are always looked at as a high damage class, standing in the backline in battles, and raining down harm from afar.

Level 1 to 10 for the Hunter is teasingly referred to as the "Dark Ages". This is since the player does not have the skill to tame a pet. Levelling Guides assist by advising you on precisely how to go about with your quests, so you know accurately which quests you should be doing, and which you should not, enabling you to get to level 70 in the best time probable. However, take provision when purchasing a guide, as there are a lot out there that are mediocre, and will be a misuse of your money.

World of Warcraft Hunters who want their pet to maximum the damage they do, should pick a pet that is have a large damage rating and a low attack speed. The high damage pets have somewhat higher attack bonuses, but lower armor class and hit points. World of Warcraft hunters is a class that is devoted to nature and long range attacks preferring to stay out of melee distance. Hunters are neither pure melee nor magic; they sit somewhere in-between making them effective ranged classes without many restrictions. While they are strong and can stand their own in a fight, they also have minimal magic skills, which help a lot when out hunting both solo and in a party.

Beast Mastery Hunters can also shut down a healer or a caster very efficiently. With the attack rate of the hunter himself combined with the attack speed of the pets make casting almost impossible for others. Beast Mastery increases all of yours pet's abilities making them more dangerous than their wild brothers and sisters. Marksmanship bolsters the damage and effectiveness of your ranged skills, and Survival is mostly for utility spells and greater endurance. A good suggestion would be to put your first 5 points on Lethal Shots under the Marksmanship Tree, as this will help you a lot as a low level hunter.

Cats have the biggest net attack bonuses with high damage which is around an extra 10%, but there health is a little lower than average coming in around 2% lower. Unless you dislike the idea of having the most popular World of Warcraft pet, cat is the way to go. Cats are one of only two pets which get a 10% bonus to damage. Cats are also easy to feed and learn a most of the best pet skills. Cats can use Prowl, which hides them from view until they initiate an attack on a hostile. When a cat launches an attack from Prowl, it gets bonus damage which is very helpful.

Justin Hopley is the owner of rapidwow, a blog dedicated to the World of warcraft, and helping players learn and progress throughout the game with lots of information and guide. You can get more World of warcraft Hunter guides by visiting his site.

How Parents Can Ensure The Maximum Benefit of Video Games On Kids

Today, video games have become an almost commonplace item in every household, particularly when there are boys in the house. As a result, parents usually end up worrying as to what negative effects and implications these have on the overall development of their children. Here are some ways to ensure that video games would be properly used in your house.

As parents, you would need to set some kind of limitation as to how long your children could spend playing video games. A bit would be enough to practice their motor skills and reflexes perhaps, but remember that too much could be addicting and could hinder the mental and physical growth of a child. Keep in mind that children have to be physically active in order to stay healthy. Also, they have to focus on other more important things such as schoolwork.

Do not try to restrict them on playing video games at all. When restricted, children are more likely to be rebellious, trying to do everything they can to make sure they would be able to do what they want to. Moderation would still be best when video games are concerned.

Also, video games are not all bad. In fact, they could even enhance the social skills of children, especially when playing with several other children. This allows them to interact and converse healthily, contributing to mental development as well.

If you do allow your children to play with video games, try to buy those that would be most educational for them. A lot of companies today manufacture video games that integrate the teaching of the alphabet, numbers, words and others with fun games.

People Are Getting Paid To Play Video Games

Millions of people around the world love to play video games. The term "Gamer" has become part of our vocabulary as more and more young and older segments of the population have spent their money to play games on several different platforms.

Now it seems that many of these "gamers" are earning significant amounts of money testing these games for the various companies who are more then happy to pay for this service.

Word is spreading about this opportunity thanks to online blogs where people are sharing their experiences with their fellow gamers. Many people are surprised that they can actually make money playing video games. The amount of money that can be made varies depending on how many gaming systems the user owns and the amount of time they are willing work.

How does it work? Basically the companies send the game and assignment sheet via mail. The gamer simply plays the game and then fills out the assignment sheet and then mails it back in. The assignment sheet is basically a mini survey about the game. The tester answers questions like, "What did you think of the game menu? Was it easy to navigate? What was the best part of the multi-player function? Was there any noticeable game bugs?"

It's that easy and there is one large benefit. Once the tester is done reviewing the game they usually get to keep the game. Allowing the testers to keep the game is no small thing as most new video games for consoles like Xbox 360 are priced at $59.99.

Peter Teevens is a freelance journalist who makes his home in Las Vegas, NV. The website http://www.gametesterpayday.com is one of the places gamers can go to learn how to get paid to play video games. They charge a one-time fee and even offers a money back guarantee.

Computers Are Everywhere, Even Underwater

In today's world, computing has become mobile. We use laptops and phones to send emails and search the Net. We use our computers virtually everywhere, even when we fly. But to be truly mobile, computers would have to work in all environments, even hostile ones. Thanks to the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), one such environment has been conquered. Computers have moved under water.

The WetPC® is thought to be the first wearable underwater computer in the world. It consists of a small PC contained in waterproof housing, which is mounted on the diver's air tank. The PC is connected to a waterproof virtual display HUD on the diver's mask, as well as to a waterproof Kord® Pad, attached to either the diver's belt or chest. The Kord® Pad assumes the role and functions of a keyboard. It's a hi-tech chordic graphical user interface (CGUI) that is operated with 5 keys or buttons.

The Kord® Pad is intended for easy one-handed use and is ambidextrous, so it can be used just as well by left-handed people as by right-handers. Current chordic systems require users to learn and remember various chord routines for specific commands. The unique chording system of the Kord® Pad is different because it tells the user which buttons to press and in what order. In other words, "what you see is what you press".

People who have used Kord® Pad's chordic system say that in addition to it being so easy to use (faster than a mouse), they develop muscle memory for the various characters and commands so that they can work more quickly and efficiently. Apparently even novice users develop complete confidence within minutes of picking up the device.

Equipped with GPS and an acoustic navigation system, the WetPC® is ideal for underwater tasks requiring positioning and mapping. Salvage divers, for example, who need graphical and contextual data about the terrain in which they're searching, would find the WetPC® invaluable.

WetPC® would assist the efficiency and accuracy of searches conducted by police divers by keeping track of where they are as well as where they've been. Oceanographers and scientists could use it to map and monitor underwater ecosystems. It could even be used by Navies when they search for unexploded mines and other nasty weapons. In fact the digital technology of the Kord® Pad would be especially handy because it's unaffected by bumps and vibrations, such as the kind caused by accidental contact with a mine. To ensure absolute safety, however, they would also need digital divers.

The uses for underwater computers are as limitless as the uses for those on land. They tend, however, to be for specialised purposes. While you can't sit on the sea bed and surf the Net for the latest news on Paris Hilton yet, it's only a matter of time.

Laptop Security Device - 10 Tips To Protect Your Laptop And Data

Here are 10 tips to prevent your laptop from theft as well as an explanation of laptop security devices that ensure your laptop and data are protected. The main attraction of laptops is their portability and mobility. It is great to be able to take your computer with you and use it anywhere. But with these benefits comes a risk of theft. Obviously theft is more likely to happen when an object can be picked up and carried away. Laptop security devices are important to prevent your laptop from being stolen as well as to prevent the data from your laptop being retrieved and used in the event that your laptop is a victim of theft.

10 TIPS TO PREVENT LAPTOP THEFT

1. NEVER leave your laptop or any valuables in plain sight in your car. Recently there has been an increase in car burglaries stemming from valuables being left in plain sight. Lock them in the trunk.

2. Don't use computer bags, while these maybe fashionable and comfortable they make it obvious that you are carrying a laptop. Try using a padded briefcase or suitcase instead.

3. Make sure your laptop is always with you. Do not check laptops in with your luggage while traveling. Never leave your laptop in your car in plain sight or any valuable objects for that matter. There has been a recent increase of car burglaries stemming from people leaving valuables in plain sight. Lock all valuables in the trunk.

4. Another great laptop security measure is to never leave access numbers or passwords in your carrying case. Keeping your password with your laptop is like keeping the keys in the car. Without your password or important access numbers it will be more difficult for a thief to access your personal and corporate information.

5. Keep your eye on your laptop. When you go through airport security don't lose sight of your bag while it's going through the scan or hold your bag until the person in front of you has gone through the metal detector. Many bags look alike and yours can easily be lost in the shuffle.

6. Avoid setting your laptop on the floor or the seat next to you. If you must set ti down make sure you are always aware of it by setting down against your leg or arm. Putting your laptop on the floor is an easy way to forget or lose track of it.

7. Use a screen guard when in public. This prevents people from looking over your shoulder and seeing sensitive information. This is especially helpful when you're traveling or need to work in a crowded area.

8. Do not leave your laptop unsecured in your hotel room. Things sometimes tend to get lost in hotel rooms and are never secure. If you must leave your laptop in the room then use a security cable to attach it to a stable object, such as the desk or bedpost. Another good thing to do is leave the "do not disturb" sign on the door.

9. Labeling everything possible related to your laptop is an effective security measure. Label everything with the name of the individual that owns it, and ensure that these labels are conspicuous. The potential theft value of laptops is reduced greatly when additional work is required to remove the identifying marks. Conspicuous identity labels also significantly increase the risk of a potential thief being caught in the act of theft.

10. Buy a laptop security device. The next section details some options for laptop security devices.

LAPTOP SECURITY DEVICE:

Laptop Cable:

One of the most inexpensive and effective laptop security devices is a laptop cable. Very much like a bicycle lock, this cable attaches to your laptop and allows you to lock it to a stationary object. The cable makes it much more difficult for someone to steal your laptop.

Laptop Tracing Programs:

These programs will report the location of a stolen laptop. They work when the laptop connects to the Internet, and can report the laptop's exact physical location.

Motion Sensors and Alarms:

Unexpected loud noises make people wake up and take notice, something that aspiring thieves find very discouraging. Laptop security devices exist which use alarms as a form of protection.

While the signal mechanism of an alarm system is usually the same, the triggers are different. The idea is that if the user moves out of range of the device, or the laptop is moved out of range of the user, the alarm will sound. Thus, if someone tries to steal or remove the laptop, the alarm will sound, drawing attention to the theft. Another option is to is to buy an alarm that relies on nothing more than movement of the object that it is attached to. If the object that the sensor is attached to is moved, an alarm will sound. Entering the 3-digit security code will reset or disable the alarm once the device has been recovered.

LAPTOP SECURITY DEVICES THAT PREVENT DATA ACCESS:

Security measures available in order to prevent access to data on your laptop in the event that it is taken.

Set a Login Password:

Set a login name/password that way in order to successfully login in to a laptop the user must provide that information. If the login entered is incorrect, the operating system will refuse to allow entry.

Set a BIOS password: Most laptops offer protection by allowing the owner to set a boot password. Typically most will prompt the user three times to enter a password, then refuse to boot if there are three failures.

Encryption:

One of the best laptop security devices are file encryption programs, which, encrypt files on your laptop. A private unlock key is provided to the owner, and as long as your private key is kept safe, no one but you and your intended recipients will be able to view your data.

Biometric Fingerprint Readers: Another great laptop security device is the Biometric Reader. This type of laptop security device would provide authentication at the hardware level which would require authentication before the machine would even boot up. The idea behind biometrics is to use the uniqueness of certain features of a user, such as retinal pattern, fingerprints, and even typing characteristics, to accurately identify and authorize persons.
